PAV: A novel model for ranking heterogeneous objects in bibliographic information networks
نویسندگان
چکیده
Bibliographic information networks, formed by online bibliographic databases, such as ACM Digital Library and IEEE/IET Electronic Library, contain abundant information about authors, papers, venues (journals/conferences), and have been widely studies in recent years. However, few studies examine the problem of ranking objects in these networks. In this paper, we study this problem and present a novel model, called PAV, for ranking heterogeneous objects, such as authors, papers, and venues. Based on PAV model, we transform the problem of ranking objects into the problem of estimating probability distribution. We propose an efficient algorithm to estimate probability parameters by use of the fact that the PAV model is a regular Markov chain. For evaluating PAV model, we apply it on one real dataset, which was crawled from ACM Digital Library. The experimental results show that the proposed model is effective. 2012 Elsevier Ltd. متن کاملA novel key management scheme for heterogeneous sensor networks based on the position of nodes
Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) have many applications in the areas of commercial, military and environmental requirements. Regarding the deployment of low cost sensor nodes with restricted energy resources, these networks face a lot of security challenges. A basic approach for preparing a secure wireless communication in WSNs, is to propose an efficient cryptographic key management protocol be...
متن کاملHRank: A Path based Ranking Framework in Heterogeneous Information Network
Recently, there is a surge of interests on heterogeneous information network analysis. As a newly emerging network model, heterogeneous information networks have many unique features (e.g., complex structure and rich semantics) and a number of interesting data mining tasks have been exploited in this kind of networks, such as similarity measure, clustering, and classification. Although evaluati...
متن کاملClustering and Ranking in Heterogeneous Information Networks via Gamma-Poisson Model | Proceedings of the 2015 SIAM International Conference on Data Mining | Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics
Clustering and ranking have been successfully applied independently to homogeneous information networks, containing only one type of objects. However, real-world information networks are oftentimes heterogeneous, containing multiple types of objects and links. Recent research has shown that clustering and ranking can actually mutually enhance each other, and several techniques have been develop...
